Key Highlights
Excellence in Doctoral Training
Excellence in doctoral training is a strong tradition at the University of Vienna. Support for doctoral candidates to focus on research and bring studies to a successful conclusion is comprehensive. This includes both the requirements for doctoral training under the Vienna Doctoral Schools and Academies since 2016 and the uni:docs program. Workshops on transferable skills, communication, and networking facilities form part of the enhancement to the training.
Promoting Women in Academia
One of the priorities for the University is advancing the academic careers of women. To this end, it organizes custom-made workshops and long-term programs specifically for female researchers, ranging from PhD students to senior postdoctoral scholars. Teacher Education
With programs on 27 subjects, the University of Vienna is Austria’s largest institution for teacher education. Dedicated to improving teacher training in content, pedagogy, and organization, the university established the Centre for Teacher Education to implement and advance these goals efficiently
